DoodleBoy, who hurts you? Amy does not serve enthusiasm? But flopstar like Anniston does? I think you are jealous to see her recognition. So sad for you. People go to see her movies based on her name bro. Don't hurt yourself like this. That woman did Blockbuster hit Enchanted in 2007 and Night at the Museum 2 in 2009 by herself as lead actress. That woman made indie movie Junebug a hit. She is 6 times Oscar Nominee. Oh my sadistic boy. God Brace yourself.

You never heard of her still went to see her movies? How did you even know those movies exist then? She is probably one of the biggest dramatic movie stars in Hollywood who can sell arthouse movies by just her name to mainstream audience and you don't know her? Or you are just an attention seeker to get validation from here?

It was loose ends in a way.
But Martin left looking into the fire contemplating exactly where the heck he was going to go from THERE was pretty on target. He was back. He repeatedly had vowed his child was not going to grow up without a father, so there he was.
Not sure what other kind of ending there could be for Martin.
You could see the gears going in his headhe had to try to process what he'd been through in the West, the deaths, that world. Then try to mend a relationship with a woman, having his baby, who now was light years away from him in spirit and intent.
After all, he was coerced into going into the West to save his mom's life. But his girlfriend was a "drunk the koolaid" Stasi informant, voluntarily, the type you always heard about who informed all over the place on friends and family when the Stasi was in its heyday.
How does he ever trust her?
The Edel story got an end, too. Even if it was a bit too contrived and too cliff hanger in nature.
We were left wondering who.well. You know. Probably dad, as Alex didn't seem to have time on screen to do that.
Thomas got closurehe's the new coerced agent in Tobias's stable.
The ending could have been worse. Just not sure some finales can have a satisfying ending, due to things that led up to it.

  • The ending (sort of spoiler)

I think when watching this episode it seems like Carlos was the person who was killed. What they actually say is, "Carlos, Masion de France", meaning Carlos took responsibility for the bombing.
This is a fictionalized account of Carlos passing through East Germany on his way to the West where the East Germans "had to return" the bombs he had smuggled in. Because they didn't know where he might use them, the East Germans removed the detonators.
What Martin, unknowingly, delivered in the red Decaf cans was the detonator for the bomb.

  • He killed Carlos the Jackal?

I took it at face value: she was a Chinese or Korean spy, and she was trying to kill him in earnest.
At the time, there was a split between the USSR and China, another "cold war" of sorts (
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sino-Soviet_split
). While they both were against the West on principle, under the surface, there were considerable tensions.
An operative w/o foreknowledge of another (and instructions to cooperate) would take aggressive action if she found another covert intelligence agent in the middle of her operation, even if such an agent would appear to be from a friendly power (even more so if the only other friendly power is not really so friendly).
That's how you have the USA and Israel spying on its allies (like with Germany a couple years ago).

They said in episode 1 that Stamm was an orphan - his parents had been killed in a car crash. Presumably he'd have had some other family and friends though.
