I remember watching his performance in "pretty maids all in a row" and there was a scene with him sat with a young man in a car. Dont ask me why but there was something about that scene and the way rock was acting and reacting with this guy. After a few minutes I remember thinking " he might be a big star in hollywood but I swear he's gay"
Before anyone accuses me of being homophobic, I'm not.I like Rock Hudson and he was very good in the film. Its just that's the vibe I got while watching that scene. So it came as no surprise when I learned later that he was homosexual. -

Ok, so introducing children to the idea that homosexuals exist in the world and that it's a normal occurrence in some families. Got it. Next? Not sure what the agenda is yet

Oh come on, everybody knows the homosexual agenda. All men will have to walk around saying things like..girlfriend or listen bitch. All straight men must leave their wives and start wearing low rise jeans and tight tshirts. All women have to take a class at Home Depot on carpentry and plumbing. Stuff like that.

Response to opening post
Maybe you could tell he was gay from that scene but Rock and Doris had amazing onscreen chemistry one might conclude from that that he was straight.
In other words, you may think you know, based on a scene or a gesture or any number of clues, that someone is gay or straightbut you might be incorrect.

To the OP, I don't think a thought like that is being homophobic. Lets face it, there was a time before homosexuality became more commonly known. When I was still a kid is when they had the first homosexual character on tv, Billy Crystal in the sitcom 'Soap' and it was done in a way that people could digest for the times, late 70s. As homosexuality became more understood and more common, things did get better and will get better for a lot of people.
I saw 'pretty maids' and there was a lot of sex in that movie, which is another thing that was edgy for the times. It is weird that you picked that up with everything that went on in that movie. From what I understand, Rock Hudson was a genuinely nice man and he became friends with the female actors that were in movies or tv shows with him and they had good chemistry with him and I do think that it may have helped him. It was a shock to find out he was homosexual, and it was to the public. I didn't care, but there were some bad jokes when he died that I didn't think were funny.
I remember when I was like 3-years-old and going to Universal Studios and for those who have never been there (this was in California by the way) they have actual movie scenes from popular movies. Airport had come out, which he was in, and I was 'picked' to do a part in the 'Airport' scene. Even though I do not really remember this, he apparently was there that day and while we were doing the scene, I apparently was doing the sorts of things that 3-year-olds do and he came into the scene, thought it was cute, and picked me up. I am told that EVERY woman there like to have passed out. I guess it was true because my family has pictures of it and there we are, just me and Rock Hudson, with a big room of screaming women because it was Rock Hudson. And, I don't remember a bit of it. Go figure. -

And, herein lies the problem. Why can't two people of ANY gender, sexual orientation, race, culture, religion, creed or shoe size be within a foot of another person without people speculating about their sex lives? It's beyond ridiculous. We are supposed to be CIVILIZED people but let the Nosy Nellies tell it, anybody on the same side of a sidewalk at the same time is somehow engaged in some hot love affair.
