Get on it already. We need something that can detect planet killing asteroids and shoot them into a different direction.

It cost Jeff Bezos 100 billion dollars, or rather the fools that throw all their money at him via Amazon, to go a couple thousand feet up in the air for 60 seconds while never actually even getting close to leaving Earths atmosphere. Do you really think anyone could afford to build Death Stars in space, even if they could somehow manage to go there? Think about it.
There is almost no chance anything significant would ever hit the earth even in 100 million lifetimes, and by the time any kind of extinction event like what killed the dinosaurs could impact earth we will have already died out millions of years prior to that event ever taking place.
