I made some biscuits from scratch this morning for breakfast and thought how good they'd be with some pepper & sausage country gravy. So, I made a pot of that as well. It turned out fabulous! We devoured the whole tray of biscuits and all the gravy. Right now I'm super stuffed! LOL

B&g is my favorite go to comfort food. We have it for dinner when I want something good and hearty but don't feel like cooking. I'm currently making some biscuits and bacon and scrambled eggs for brunch and I'll make red eye gravy to accompany it.

I love biscuits and sausage country grave as a comfort food. I can't make good gravy so I go to my sister-in-law for the dish. She's the queen of gravy and homemade biscuits.

I've had biscuits and i've had gravy, but i've never had "biscuits and gravy."
How do you make sausage gravy? Do you just saute sausages and then make gravy from the drippings? Or is it a special recipe with other ingredients?
Fraaaank. FRANK! Get my jean bin. Susie wants my jeans.

That's how I make my gravy. Brown the sausage, add flour to the drippings to make a roux, add milk or water and s&p. I like to add just a pinch of sage and onion powder and cayenne. I like my gravy to have bite.

Yes. I fry Jimmy Dean sage flavored roll sausage, then add flour & milk to the drippings. When it thickens I add more milk and a healthy amount of black pepper and let it cook for about 10 minutes. Don't overcook it and maybe burn it. Delicious!

Love B&G but haven't had homemade in ages. I have it quite often in restos and even when my main breakfast is not really complementary to sausage gravy (i.e., a bagel with lox or a waffle with fruit), if the menu offers a side order B&G, I'll try it.
I really like to compare B&G all over the country. Some gravy is full of chunks of sausage.
Others are rather smooth. Some are very light on the black pepper. A few times I've had full sausage patties in the biscuit covered in milk gravy. That's cheating but I appreciate the effort. I'm not fond of the yellow-ish gravy some restos use.
Probably out of a can. And can you believe that some places serve brown gravy on their B&G? Seriously.
Many people are turned off by B&G. I love 'em. -

One of my favorites for breakfast or supper. I make good sausage gravy, the biscuits are sometimes iffy, so I buy frozen buttermilk biscuits.
This morning we had Hardee's biscuits and gravy because I had a BOGO coupon. We have a really good biscuit maker, but the sausage gravy varies.sometimes it's great, sometimes full of sausage bits, sometimes lumpy, sometimes too thin. Today was a good day.

I grew up with a close southern relative. She often made biscuits and gravy even though she would never eat any kind of gravy. I preferred it on toast rather than the biscuits. I've eaten it since becoming a vegetarian just omitting the sausage bits. I like it once in awhile but never too much.

I have never eaten 'biscuits and gravy'!
I have often tried to find an equivalent butt I don't think there is one here.
From what I can gather, the term 'biscuits' is totally different to biscuits here, the 'gravy' is different and even the 'sausages are different'.
If I was to try and make it here would I use a scone mixture, white sauce (bechamel) and what kind of 'sausages'?
We call British sausages, sausages. What are US sausages like? -

I found this.since you probably can't find the equivalent to American pork sausage, this showed how to make your own.
