he did show Perry as a hero and The Clutters are Rockwell paintings. I love the book, really love it, but he did do that.

it's a beautiful book, ICB, and movie, but yeah, Perry is a deep thinker who is all fleshed out while The Clutters are basically a cliche uptight family right out of Norman Rockwell.
