My friend heard a rumour that she is actually married to Daniel Dae-Kim (her husband in Lost) can anyone confirm or dissolve this theory because I am almost 100% sure it's not true.

It's not true. Probably having the same last name caused the rumorbut Korean women do not take their husband's surname anyways, and she's not Asian American so there's no reason for her to change traditions.

yup, yoonjin kim is definitely not married to daniel dae kim - he's married to someone who's apparently not in the entertainment industry.
but to make a quick correction: yoonjin kim is considered an asian american b/c she moved to ny from korea when she was 8, and went to school in the states from that point forward through her college graduation. afterward, she returned to korea to act, and then after establishing herself as an actress in korea was she able to return to the u.s. and bb68egin acting here.
bc she's lived and been educated in both korea and the u.s., she speaks korean and english fluently. -

Of course not cause when i was waiting in the doctors office I was looking at some house magazine. And in there showed him in his new home with his wife and 2 kids it also had a picture of them making out. Now if he was married to Yun-Jin don'5b4t you think she would be pissed of that he was claiming this woman as his wife. Plus Kim is a common Surname in Korea. Along with Kim are Park and Lee as common surnames in Korea. And if you read Yun-jin interview in Maxim magazine she states that she is not married to Daniel-Dae Kim. But that people assume that they are cause they have the same last name.

According to IMDB trivia for Yunjin Kim:
"Although she shares the name of Kim with her "Lost" (2004) co-star and on-screen husband, Daniel Dae Kim, they are neither related nor married."

Yunjin Kim is not married to Daniel Dae Kim.
Like many of the posters above, I think that much of this confusion comes from the fact that they share the same last name "Kim".
In Korea, and many other East Asian countries too, not many ethnicities are mixed together in society like the US. Rather, Asians keep to themselves. I'm not trying to say that Asians are racist, but it is a part, an element of Asian culture. Since Asians (Koreans in this case) keep to themselves and marry within the same nationality, this leads to several people having the same last name (like Kim, Lee, Park, etc.), even though they are not directly related. (That is why several Asians seem to have the same last name.) In the US, since several different cultures mix together, this leads to a wide differention of surnames.
To sum it up, several Asians have the same last name, even though they are not directly related or married, just as in the case of Yunjin Kim and Daniel Dae Kim. Hope this clears up the original poster's questions! ; ) -

Why can't people just read the biography..just laziness.
Although she shares the name of Kim with her "Lost" (2004) co-star and on-screen husband, Daniel Dae Kim, they are neither related nor married.

No, she's not married to him. There are less than 300 surnames in Korea, so that's why so many Koreans share the same surnames. In case you were wondering, "Kim" is the most common surname in Korea, followed by "Lee" and "Park".
