He was Tyrone Power's boyfriend. Tyrone loved him more than any of his three wives. Even Power's biographer Fred Guiles admitted that Tyrone was bisexual, but lied when he wrote that his affairs with men "were of little importance."

Power and Romero were lovers, but Power broke it off because he was worried about his career. This is according to Romero himself, who was interviewed by Boze Hadleigh for a book on gays in Hollywood. Romero also claimed to have orally serviced Desi Arnaz(who was not gay) on several occasions. As for you people who are screaming that you don't you believe it, what do you care? All concerned are dead now; and in this day and age, having been gay is certainly no stain on their reputations.

"who was interviewed by Boze Hadleigh for a book on gays in Hollywood"
Isn't it convenient that EVERYBODY Hadleigh "interviewed" for his book was dead by the time the book was published? That way Hadleigh couldn't be sued for libel. While it's sad that there's scum like him to write the crap that he does, it's sadder that his crap is published, and even sadder still to think that people buy it, read it, and are gullible enough, sycophantic enough, or just plain STUPID enough to believe it to be true.
I met Cesar Romero once and found him to be a very friendly, witty, and charming gentleman. As for his sexual orientation, that was his private business and should not concern any of us posting on this board. He's dead now so let him rest in peace and let the rest of us enjoy all the work he left behind. -

Why is it an insult to say that Romero was gay? It's not a slur; he was BORN that way. Come down off your fking high horse. I despise people who say things like "I met so and so once, and you know, even if he WAS gay, he was STILL a great guy. Implying being gay means someone WOULDN'T be nice. Ignorant much?

Responding to this after three years goes against my better judgement, but anyway
It seems my remarks above were either completely misunderstood or
totally distorted
so they fit someone's preconceived agenda. Since I can't prove the latter I'll assume the former.
Why is it an insult to say that Romero was gay?
I never said that it was.
It's not a slur
Likewise, I never said that it was.
he was BORN that way.
How do you know that? Did he tell you that he was? Or is it just something that you read or heard and
assume
to be true without verifying your source?
Come down off your fking high horse.
I'm not on a high horse (and your crass use of profanity doesn't exactly put you in a good light).
I despise people who say things like "I met so and so once, and you know, even if he WAS gay, he was STILL a great guy." Implying being gay means someone WOULDN'T be nice. Ignorant much?
Fine, you're entitled to your opinion. However, what has that to do with me? I never said what you claim I said. What I said was,
"I met Cesar Romero once and found him to be a very friendly, witty, and charming gentleman. As for his sexual orientation, that was
his private business
and should not concern any of us posting on this board. He's dead now so let him rest in peace and let the rest of us enjoy all the work he left behind."
I have nothing against homosexuals (in fact two of my best friends are a married homosexual couple). However, I
do
have a beef against sleazy writers like Boze Hadleigh, whose so-called interviews are bogus and
invade the privacy
of people who are no longer alive to defend their rights to that privacy. Maybe Cesar Romero was gay or bi-sexual. I have no problem with that but, then again, maybe he was heterosexual or perhaps even asexual. There simply is
no definitive proof
about his sexual orientation. Thus I get annoyed when people pass off unsubstantiated rumors as if they were irrefutable fact. We can speculate all we want but we will never know for sure because the man is deceased and thus cannot answer the question.
So once again:
Let the late Cesar Romero, suave gentleman and talented actor, rest in peace and let the rest of us enjoy all the work he left behind. -

Very well statedI couldn't have said it betterespecially your statement about Boze Hadleigh, aka George Haddad, aka George Hadley-Garcia,aka George Haddad-Garcia, etc..He can't even figure out who HE is, so why should we believe what he writes????
