    If she were younger, especially around the time she filmed Phantom (or maybe even now? She could pass for early twenties but Belle may be younger than that), she would have been a perfect choice for Belle. She has the physical look as well as the right "vibe".

      Well as everyone expressed their opinion that she's too old and so Anne Hathaway, does anyone know Susan Sarandon played her in her 30's in Faerie Tale Theatre? And the oldest Belles onstage Andrea McArdle, Toni Braxton, Indira Maneiro?
      But with Phantom of the Opera, I think Emmy has had the ultimate Belle-type role preserved on film!
