Taylor, Hedren, the mother, the sister, and the lovebirds driving away under the watchful glare of all those fearsome birds: that was a memorable ending.

Yeah, it was memorable. But I always wondered why they didn't drive off slowly from the beginning once they were holed up in that house.

Alternate ending: A Santa Rosa police officer comes across a convertible that's
run off the highway. Inside he discovers four bloody corpses, their eyes pecked out, a birdcage with the door hanging open, and two lovebirds, preening their feathers with bloody beaks. THE END.
