Yeah, there was certainly nothing self-oriented about the greed-driven Eighties at all.

No it hadn't, and stop trying to parse it out to sound as if the boomer generation had invented greed.
Ronald Reagan existed well before the baby boomers, and it was his presidency that went a long ways toward sanctifying the worst impulses of the uber-wealthy (most of whom were well before the boomer generation themselves) and delivering up the disastrous economic messes of today.
Your generation looks to be pretty happy about glorifying militarization and the pursuance of endless wars just about everywhere, so I don't think in the holiness sweepstakes, you guys are exactly coming out ahead. -

G8856 - Were you a big fan of Tv westerns when you were a kid? My hubby is five years older than me, and remembers so many Tv programs that I have forgotten. I watched Gunsmoke and Maverick, but can barely recall the Tv westerns with Clint Eastwood, Steve McQueen, Nick Adams and the others. Were they popular in Australia? I do remember Bonanza too. In fact I think it came on Sunday nights, along with my favorites, Disney and The Fugitive. I had a huge crush on David Janssen.
I love Rod Taylor and Errol Flynn too. My favorites with RT are The Birds and The Time Machine. Just yesterday, I was startled to see him in Giant. I completely forgot he was in that movie. One of the things I love about Murder, She Wrote is seeing those wonderful, familiar faces. Mr. Taylor also guest-starred in 2 or 3 episodes of MSW. It's great that our favorite actors will always be with us, preserved on the big and little screens.
