Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Kristy Swanson

    marcusman48 — 14 years ago(June 25, 2011 11:48 PM)

By my reckoning (and correct me if I'm wrong), Kristy Swanson has not appeared in a theatrical feature film since 2000's DUDE WHERE'S MY CAR - practically an eternity ago. Indeed, the fact that she played a teenager in that movie just points up how long ago that was. I've been thinking about something for a long time: is it too late for her to make a return to the big screen?
More generally, is it too late for her to make a return to our public consciousness? She'll probably never hover as close to Hollywood's A-list as she did in 1992-1994, but isn't there anything she can do to make herself something approaching a household name once more?
I've been thinking that she should do b68animated films or series. It's an excellent way to guarantee yourself steady employment for years and even decades; just look at any voiceover actor on this site and see how absurdly long his or her credits list is. After all, Kristy still has one of the sexiest voices I've ever heard. And the best thing about playing an animated character is that age or other changes in physical appearance are not factors at all: you can portray just about anyone or anything as long as you can do the voice!

I wouldn't say it's too late. Kristy seems busy raising her little son and just doing indie movies or small parts in TV shows.
