Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Kristy Swanson

I found a good reason to like Kristy Swanson.
Kristy Swanson is quoted that she won't date a man who doesn't own a toolboxnot to build a housebut to do regular repairs around the house. She added that she met guys who don't own toolboxes and can't change a light bulb. (figure of speech)
I can respect that. You would expect a young Hollywood actress to say something like she expects a man to possess pretty boy looks and material wealth, or something else shallow like that. Instead, she says something practical of a man.
Well, I've owned a toolbox all my adult life and believe all guys should own their personal toolbox. I can't imagine being a guy and not owning basic tools to do minor repairs about. That just goes with the terrority of being a man.
KRISTY, I OWN A WELL-STOCKED TOOLBOX. COME SEE!

I'm sure there are things besides not have a toolbox that would disqualify you.

If not a toolbox, at least a Leatherman or some other quality multi-tool.

Toolbox means, "A case for carrying or storing tools." When I think of Kristy Swanson and the word toolbox, I want to separate toolbox into two words: tool > box. I think you guys know what I mean.

This info would've been nice to have known before she got married.

LOL. Anyone can have a toolbox but not everyone knows how to make use of it.

I don't believe a word of her toolbox requirement. Just something actresses like to say to appear normal.
If it was a guy who could further her career, had loads of money, or was famous, do any of you really think she would turn them down? No. Does it look like Alan Thicke owned a toolbox?

Well I agree. If you are rich you can call repair company and they will fix whatever needs to be fixed any time.
I think her requirement was about normal guy. If he's not rich, can't help her career then he has to know how to fix things and not just being lazy pretty boy.
