Omar Sharif's real name is Michel Shalhoub and I have often wondered if he and Tony Shalhoub are related since it is not a very common name (at least to my knowledge).
Does anyone know?

Omar is Egyptian, and Tony is Lebanese.

Actually, Omar Sharifs parents were Lebanese/Syrian. But I've never heard or read anything about him and Tony Shalhoub being related. Shalhoub might be a fairly common Lebanese name, perhaps?

Shalhoub is a fairly common name among Lebanese, so they aren't any more likely to be related than some random pair of 'Kowalskis' or 'Johansens'. They could be distantly related, but it isn't likely.

Omar Sharif's real name is Michael Shalhoub and he's from a city in lebanon called "Zahle" !!
Toni Shalhoub is from the lebanese mountains , from a region called "Al-Shouf"
