I heard back in the '80s she turned down George Clooney at a fundraiser dance, back in the day. Does anyone remember?

No, she didn't. She's a super lady and would not be disrespectful to anyone. She was at a military gig specifically to entertain the troops and simply stayed true to that purpose b68only dancing and mingling with the troops, but was polite and respectful to everyone there regardless of who they were.

I remembered this because Clooney always bugged me a little. I know he's a good actor and I know most people like him, but I found this in a People Magazine piece.
It's no shock that actress Tracy Scoggins will be among the celebs headed to Kosovo to entertain peacekeeping troops as part of a USO tour. "I've always been patriotic," says Scoggins. "I know from being on distant locations that it can get very lonely, and actors have all the amenities, so I can only imagine how these people must feel." Scoggins is so patriotic, in fact, that when a rising young actor asked her to dance at a 1987 USO event in Hollywood, she declined, saying she 1c84was "dancing with the boys in uniform." The rejected lad's name: George Clooney.

Excellent decision by Ms Scoggins IMO. Mr Clooney chose a wife who defends terrorists, torturers, and war criminals. Can someone tell me why was he even attending a dance at the USO for the soldiers? Were there many female soldiers in the 1980s?

That article is stomach-turning and jaw-dropping. How anyone could defend people like that is beyond me. Sickening!

If she was just dancing with soldiers, there's no reason for her to dance with Clooney.
People's trying to make it look like a bad decision on her part, but that wasn't what she was there for.

Exactly 👍 she had every right to turn him down. She was there for the soldiers and not for him.
