I purchased my copy of "
The Love Boat: Season Three.
Volume One
." on DVD from Amazon on Amazon.com two days ago
https://www.amazon.com/Love-Boat-Season-Three-One/dp/B01M34BHWB/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1484838745&sr=1-1&keywords=Love+Boat%3A+Season+Three
and I received the set in the mail this afternoon.
The first episode I chose to watch, which I couldn't wait to see wasof course "
The Critical Success/The Love Lamp Is Lit/Take My Boyfriend, Please/Rent a Family/The Man in Her Life
". It is located on
Disc 3
and it is presented in the two-hour special format. You can watch it with the Promo or Not, first. (Be Sure To Watch The Promo!)
The video quality and audio was very good considering this episode was made 37+ years ago, and looks great on DVD.
I don't want to spoil the episode for all for you, so I'll just give you a quick review
It has been years since I saw any Love Boat episodes, and I had forgotten how humorous the show format was supposed to be, which also has a laugh track. Seeing the crew, constantly being part of the jokes, was a bit of a shock to me. I guess the show should have been called the "Comedy Boat". In any case, it made watching the episode even more fun (Thankfully, Ginger didn't have an encounter with "
Flying Butter
")
I did expect to see numerous famous guest stars on the passenger list, and had r2000ead about some of the ones who took the cruise with Ginger, but there were a couple of additional ones that I wasn't prepared for, but instantly recognized while watching the episode. Seeing them all was very entertaining.
The episode wasn't all perfect. I did think there were a few jokes or some situations which seemed ridiculous But, at least none of that stuff involved Ginger's scenes. Overall, the episode was still very good.
Miss Ginger Rogers, was Beautiful and Magnificent as always, and indeed "
Sparkled
" in this two-part episode.
Spending $19.96+ on this DVD set, was worth the price, just to add her wonderful performance in this episode to my Ginger Rogers media collection (And there are still more Love Boat episodes to watch too!)
If you are a fan of the majority of Miss Ginger Rogers' performances, I don't believe you will regret adding this to your collection. -

The "LOVE BOAT!" You know your career is over when you appeared on that clunker! And to have her warble "Love Will keep us together?" I can't stop laughing trying to imagine that! I'm going to bust a gut, hahahahaha

coreymax23, the song is "Love Will Keep Us Together" not "Love Will keep us together?" (each word begins with a capital and the question mark is inappropriate.) You said Ginger wore flowing gowns in the 1970s to hide the shame that she let her body get grotesque. And you thought you were stating a fact!
Meanwhile, Ginger looked smashing and shapely in her "Love Will Keep Us Together" costume in 1979. Are you jealous because Santa didn't bring you a copy of that costume for Christmas? Regarding your gut, hold it in if Santa does bring you a copy of that costume next Christmas. (Or get yourself well-corseted!)
