Remar would be the best choice for the role of Roland Deschain in case The Dark Tower is ever released. IMHO.

Just started reading the books and I picture Roland looking like James. However, I think he is too old now for the part as they will probably cast someone a bit younger. Let's just hope it's not Russell Crowe!!

They could go with Jason (his son), but then people would complain about him being Japanese and "Wouldn't it be better if he'd had a brown-haired, gray-eyed kid like himself?" andugh.
