        You can often hear John Cleese saying Pah-lin but he does it on purpose as a joke. So it's Pay-lin, as the person above said. 🙂

              I always love that joke between the two of them! It's pronounced Pah-lin and spelled Pallin (in the joke that is).
              Trivia: When the Globe Theatre was rebuilt in London, a service was offered whereby you could have your name on a tile in the courtyard, for a donation to the project. Cleese bought two, one for himself and one for Mike and paid extra to have Mike's name mis-spelled! So when Mike went to see his friend's nice gesture he saw his name spelled as "Pallin"!
