You can't bring him back but he really was the best. I remember the announcement of his death, it was quite a shock, although I knew something was wrong as I noticed he was getting thinner and thinner on the program. When I heard he was moving to a new series of Law and Order, I knew that was it. Nobody can replace him for his acting skills, his wit and dry humour, the way he played that part was amazing. 111c I'm sure his fans miss him. Is he gone five years already?

Yeah, I miss Lennie.
He just fits that role like an old shoe. Some of the other actors grate on me, like Dennis Farina, never could warm to his character. Det Ed Green comes the closest as a Briscoe replacement not too strident, easygoing professionalism.
