Does 28 count as young? I'd heard of Myrna Loy before, but hadn't seen her until Mr. Blandings Buils His Dreamhouse was on TCM a couple of years ago. Love her to pieces.

I was about 30 when I first heard of Myrna Loy. I was watching either AMC or TCM and "Third Finger, Left Hand" was on. She was in that with Melvyn Douglas. Ever since I have been a huge fan. Also became a big fan of William Powell in the process.

I'm 16, and have yet to see "Wife vs. Secretary" and numerous other movies of Myrna Loy, but I definitely love her both as an actress and as a person. I guess I don't have to mention how much I love Nick & Nora, but actually the first Myrna Loy film I ever saw as "Best Years of Our Lives." She immediately caught my attention and I sought out to find out more about her. She's definitely one of the best.

Same with me - I'm 17 and saw her for the first time in "Midnight Lace" last Summer. I loved her as "Aunt Bea" because she was so perfect for the role but didn't look her up. Then I saw "The best years of our lives" and she immediately caught my attention. As I found out she was Myrna Loy and had also appeared in "Midnight Lace" I wanted to watch more movies with her - she's wonderful in everything she did. The Thin Man Series are nothing but great and so many others are too 🙂

36 here. Myrna is amazing, blows the "actresses" of today away.

I'm 21, & I've been a fan of Myrna for months. She's a fabulous actress, & an underrated one at that. She's full of charm & wit & I think her voice is absolutely adorable. I also find that she's always at her best when she's on screen with William Powell. She was such a wonderful woman whom I respect & admire so much.

Going on 19, Myrna Loy was an amazing actress. I've grown up on silverscreen films since my parents love them. I probably know mor1c84e about old stars and old movies than I do about those of today lol. I think that todays films and actors, though in some respects are better, will never compare to those who were here first and many of the classic films that have been made. It makes me sad that so few of my own friends don't know or won't even give them a chance.

I completely agree. Myrna Loy was such a talented actress. There aren't many actresses that could compare to her nowadays.

I'm fifteen, but I started getting into the classics when I was twelve. So far my favorite actresses are Katharine Hepburn, Julie Andrews, Marilyn Monroe, Bette Davis, and Greta Garbo.
I recently saw Myrna Loy in a few movies, and I think I might end up becoming a big fan.

Youre fifteen and you have a Dorothy Parker quote at the end of your responses? Thats impressive!!! As far as your list of actresses, Monroe was beautiful but not that great of an actress. Some movies to look at, the Thin Man collection, pretty much anything with Barbara Stanwyck in it as well as Jean Harlow, and Carole Lombard as well
Its better to be looked over than overlooked.

Yes, I agree that Marilyn Monroe really wasn't known for her acting abilities. She made a few films that showed off her talent, but most of her roles were just bimbo stuff.
Some movies to look at, the Thin Man collection, pretty much anything with Barbara Stanwyck in it as well as Jean Harlow, and Carole Lombard as well
I have never seen any of the Thin Man movies, but I will! I just don't know much about the serieshow many of them there are, and if they're really all that good.
Barbara Stanwyck has been on my list of actresses to investigate for quite some time now. I guess I will have more time for movies during the summer. I've seen a few Jean Harlow films

The scene with Powell and her on the boat in 'Libeled Lady' was miraculous. It's captivating!

When I was younger (I'm 22, almost 23 now) I wasn't much of a fan, however, now that I'm older I like her. She was charming, and beautiful. She isn't my favorite actress, but I do think she's stunning.
