Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Nathan Lane

    MrsVampyre — 19 years ago(August 13, 2006 08:18 PM)

What's your favorite character that Nathan has played and why?
    Mine are:
The Lion in the Wizard of Oz, He was perfectly priceless in the role. At times he eve sounded like Burt Lahr.
Oscar Madison from the Odd Couple: Nathan brought a vunerability, and likeability to a gruff character. He brought out the human side of Oscar.
Professor Twibley: Guest apprearance on the TV show Mad About You. Nathan was at his comedic best. He also made the character very likeable, and you could see the emotition in certain scenes.

      Timone for the Lion King.
      Max Bialystock in the Producers.
      And Ernie Smuntz in Mousehunt.
      Good choice huh?
I especially loved the Lee Evans/ Nathan Lane chemistry he sparked up there.

Oh God..Max Bialystock from the Producers. You just can't get that sort of humor anywhere else.
Who says you can't go back?

              Albert from the Birdcage
I loved him in that role, too. Nathan and Robin Williams really did a great job together.

Agreed! He NAILED the roll! NAILED it! I mean he MADE the movie. The Birdcage wouldn't have been NEARLY as good if someone else was cast. Much better than the original film.

                        Wow! That's kinda hard.
I love Max, Albert, and Timon ❤
He does great in all of them, though.
Also, the Mad About You ep. was great!
