Just got done reading this book written by Sara Davidson with the cooperation of Rock Hudson and his friends. Was really moved by the ending, but I'm still a little disturbed that he didn't want his partner (who later sued) to know he had aids. It was all so complex- keeping secrets to avoid the adverse publicity but in the end it gave Marc Christian more ammunition to use in his law suit. I've always liked Rock Hudson particularly the Doris Day comedies and 'Seconds' wish he'd had more input in the book personally (had he not died before it was completed). Anyone else read this book, what were your thoughts?

Huh? I just finished reading the same biography & I'm very puzzled by your post.
I totally agree that Rock should have told him but they weren't in a romantic or even friendship relationship the last 3 years of Rock Hudson's life. Remember, M.C. was living his own life, had his own bedroom at the house, etc.? Remember how he threatened to go to his friend at the Enquirer about Rock's sexuality? Isn't that considered blackmail or extortion or something like that? Though I don't agree with not disclosing the info to him, I can understand where Rock's anger dismissed doing the right thing.
As far as him not having women in his life, Im not sure about that. He seemed to have such a deep friendship love for both Elizabeth Taylor & Doris Day. And oh how I have such new profound respect & admiration for Elizabeth Taylor now that I read his biography. He also explained though111c how fickle life is in Hollywood, people lose your number when you're no longer deemed relevant. What an interesting biography to read. It was scary & sad at times but wow, what a life! And what a BRILLIANT actor was! Especially considering how he shocked the world, not about how he died, but when the world learned of his sexual orientation.
The BEST station out there!
