Does anybody know why or (preferably) a site with a good biography?

I have read his biographies and I'm not sure if they really go into why he immigrated to America. I'm sure a big help aren't I. But he was a very young boy at the time with a large family. It's apparent that it was the parents choice.

Read Arthur Marx's book on him.

He was five years old and his family migrated. In 1908 things were not so great in England.
