Has no one on the boards seen Harvey Fierstein in"Catered Affair" where he sings and portrays the drunk uncle? This was the first time I ever saw him on stage at the "Old Globe Theatre" in Balboa Park in San Diego. He was absolutely hilarious. He also wrote the book for it. It should have gotten the Tony but missed out on it. Sure his voice sounds like a gravel truck stuck in reverse grinding like crazy but his timing was crazy spot-on. Tom Wopat was the father in this production and also perfect in his role. He could sing beautifully however as could everyone else in the show. Harvey Fierstein is unique and a fantastic actor.

I know this post is 6 years old but by chance you actually see this, what did his singing voice sound like when actually put to music and in front of an audience?
