No matter what private life that Harvey may have, whether straight or gay, the man is a brilliant actor, and makes me laugh. And he's just as talented no matter what his preference is. He's da man ! And his private life is none of my business. He's a wonderful human being, no matter what.

I agree with you "JCReturns2010", Harvey Fierstein is a precious gem amongst a mountain of CZ's!!

I just love him. His vulnerability and candor as both a gay man and an actor are just two of many attributes this man brings to the silver screen. I wish he were in more films! Harvey, you're definitely LOVED and no sweetie! It's not "so wrong"!!! -

Loved him in "Independence Day" and "Mrs. Doubtfire". I saw "Torch Song Trilogy" almost twenty years ago. Don't remember much about it but I do remember he and Broderick were great. Harvey also gave a funny vocal performance in "Mulan".

I am sorry maybe I was not clear. I was referring to the PLAY Torch Song Trilogy, not the movie.
I had no idea, Harvey wrote TST. Estelle Getty did play Arnold's mom; I was pretty sure I had it right.
From Wikipedia under the subject, "Torch Song Trilogy".
Stage productions
Torch Song Trilogy first opened at the uptown Richard Allen Center in October 1981 [3]. On January 15, 1982 it transferred to the Actors' Playhouse in Greenwich Village, where it ran for 117 performances [4]. The cast included Fierstein as Arnold, Joel Crothers as Ed, Paul Joynt as Alan, Matthew Broderick as David, and Estelle Getty as Mrs. Beckoff
See what a difficult situation you've created. Proud of yourself now are you? -

I found his death to be the saddest in Independence Day and of course (Harry Conick, Jr.) Jimmy Nooooo!!!!! That was truly heartbreaking. Poor Jimmy, I will never be the same, he couldn't really bank at that speed, how did he not know that, Jimmy, JimmyJimmmmmyyyyNoooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He did his best to save the world, well maybe Jeff Goldblum did that but at least he tried to save our cable and that is one of the most important things in the world. In Mrs. Doubtfire, he had two of the best lines, "Older like Shelley Winters older or Shirley MaClaine" "What's the difference?" "Some scotch tape and some red hair dye." and "Would you be careful with this one, she's an old woman. Why wasn't I an only child?"
