Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Jack Elam

    rareandfirsts — 16 years ago(May 31, 2009 05:44 PM)

No one that I can think of at the moment. He was so great. He was so Jack Elam. Today's films seem to typecast around looks, but no one "cock-eyed" or one eyed would be cast in today's cinema unless it was a Troma or Ewe Boll production wherin the cast person would go beck to his or her job as whatever and never to be heard of again.
    Any suggestions?
I'm so tired of the club scene So are the baby seals.

That's funny I never saw the movie but my son who is 6'5" borrowed a friend's car with a sunroof. His head stuck out the top and it looked like a cartoon lol.

Good actors can play parts to suit their strengths and get other actors to respond to them. Jack Palance and Warren Oates played convincing bad guys and made their comparative smallness an effective part of their role.
It's actually a pity Elam stopped being an accountant- would any one dare commit fraud with the thought of someone with
          that
face looking at their accounts afterwards?
