Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Barbara Eden

    jfd0210 — 11 years ago(May 30, 2014 05:46 PM)

(I posted this on Barry Coe's site, and then thought I would put it here, also).
Barbara Eden was appearing at an autograph signing event/memorbilia show in Chicago about a year ago, and I went with a friend.
As there was advance notice, I had time to find something for her to sign a little out of the ordinary (ie not "Jeannie"). I found a very nice, vintage, colored tinted still of her from A PRIVATE'S AFFAIR.
When I handed her the still to sign, she bent down a little to read the text at the bottom, and read the names.
When she said, "Barry Coe" she paused for a split second, threw her head back, and let out this huge LAUGH!
Since there was a line of people behind me, and I am generally shy at these events, I didn't ask any questionsbut have alwayw wonderedwhat kind of a laugh was that?
Along the lines of "Barry Coe," what a barrel of laughs?
Does anyone know if they dated? Were friends?
I don't have her book, maybe she mentions him there?
    Thanks for any input!
(As an aside, she was really lovely (to look at and in manner), it was wonderful to see her for a few minutes.
Also, there was a mentally disturbed woman who was trying to cause a problem in the line of people waiting to meet her. She cut to the front of the line (where I was standing) and put her face right up to Ms. Eden's and started to talk. Although taken aback, Ms. Eden never lost her composure, spoke kindly to the woman, and even thanked her for what she said to her.
I will always think of Barbara Eden as a kind and gracious lady.).

They dated during the mid-'50s, but I have no idea why she laughed the way she did.
      No blah, blah, blah!
