I teach in the Philadelphia School District and will be amused to see if T.D. can hack even co-teaching here. I think it would have been better to have him work in "less pleasant" high school. What are the chances you are going to get the kind of kids you would in a real high school if they are picking and chosing the students?
Hmmm, is he going to make him have an ephiphany at the end of the series about how rewarding teaching is and how difficult it is to be a teacher. Wait, does this mean I don't have to watch it if I know the outcome? -

I also am a NEHS grad and I personally was quite annoyed when I found out the Tony was gonna be teaching there. Mostly I was annoyed that ME being an alumni, was not allowed into the school building the May after my freshman year of college becuase they didn't want any visitors "being a distraction" to the teachers. Yet they allow a whole camera crew, all the show people and Tony in the school to make a damn reality show but I can't go in to visit my old teachers. All so the school could get money out of the show. Way to go NEHS, you might be my former HS but I was never fond of it.
By the way, all the students were tested and hand picked before the tapings, AND they are mostly MAGNET students. I want to see how much of an impact Tony will be on the students when it comes to SATs, good thing he's not teaching 11th graders, just 10th grades. But even 10th graders can only learn so much from Tony.
P.S. - Big Cheese and Little Cheese, BEST NEHS principals ever!!! Screw you new principal!!! You're the reason why I couldn't get back into my own graduate HS but would rather have total strangers videotaping your students. -

This is a ridiculous show. How can he be walking into a classroom so unprepared? He is worse than my student teacher last year, and that guy was so bad that I wouldn't even write him a letter of recommendation.
I guess this is all for the cameras. I was hoping this would be an expos of the education system. This show has no purpose except to float his star back to the top. -

Personally, I think kids need great role models like Tony Danza. I look at how messed up so many people running this country are and how bad some parents can be in raising their kids and having someone so positive and up beat and inspiring as Tony Danza is fantastic. That
s so important in life and for kids. I wish I had a teacher like Tony Danza. I think I would have loved going to class each day. I remember all of my teachers and especially the ones that inspired me to do better in life. THIS is how I see Tony Danza. Inspiring. I think hes going to do great. Give him a chance and don`t be ignorant and pre judge.
