She started her career promisingly in two Robert Redford movies and thennothing until she appeared playing one of the leads in Death On the Nile, what did she do in that gap of years? Just modelling ?

According to the Trivia of "The Spy Who Loved Me" she was taking time off, after criticism, to take acting lessons. The producers wanted her in the movie . . .

Her brother died from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and she took three years off to get over that, and begin fundraising in his memory.
