I love Billie Burke, and wish she was well-known for more than just "The Wizard of Oz." Aside from "Oz," I first saw her in was "Dinner at Eight," and I thought she was fantastic in that. My estimation of her has only grown over the years. I watched "Topper" again a few days ago and finally caught "Topper Returns" last night and she's great in both, particularly the latter. She took what could have been a thankless role and made it a loopy gem. Her sense of delivery and comic timing was tremendous. She was very aware of her on-screen persona and played it to the hilt.

That is very true! Miss Burke really is very underappreciated by Hollywood after all that she has done to improve the quality of films and acting because her screen persona ought to be registered on the list of national treasures! She is just that great!
And that is also exactly on target about her sense of delivery and comic timing because Billie Burke is one true professional when it comes to her readings each and every time which audiences are blest to see her and to hear her and to experience a true acting genius.
Well said because she really did know her persona, her characters, her scripts and her direction (and "played it all to the hilt!")
