Movie girl: I too am a fan of Anne Baxter and enjoyed her performance in the suspenseful Chase a Crooked Shadow with Herbert Lomm and Richard Todd. She is also superb in the wonderful Razor's Edge with Tyrone Power and Gene Tierney.
I recall that I first saw Guest in the House with Anne on The Early Show on TV when I was very young. A haunting and suspenseful film. After that I started to watch for Anne's films; Carnival Story, I Confess, etc. She was absolutely riveting in I Confess with Montgomery Clift. Whether it is humor or sensitivity or even evil, Anne could portray the part beautifully. Yes, she was quite diabolical in All About Eve about the understudy who supplants the star only to be supplanted eventually by a new one.
