Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — John Barrymore

I just finished watching "Rasputin and the Empress", recorded from TCM awhile ago. While it was a tad long, I felt that the performances were wonderful. Especially John's last scene with Lionel. Anyone else?
Yes, sir, I'm going to do nothing like she's never been done before!

It was great seeing all three Barrymores together. All three were magnificent, especially Lionel Barrymore who gave a very creepy performance.

Lionel's eyebrows (rising and falling) are always a distraction, but he was good. It was also good to see his get killed! When he won't go ahead and die JB yells "Get back in HELL!"
