Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — John Barrymore

His sharp wit never left him, even when he was dying. A priest came to administer the last rites, accompanied by an exceedingly homely nurse. When the priest asked him if he had anything to confess, Barrymore replied, "Yes, Father. I am guilty, at this moment, of having carnal thought2000s." "About whom?," replied the shocked priest. "About HER!," he replied, indicating the nurse.
I assume comely rather homely is meant.

No, that's the idea. It's the idea that Barrymore is attracted to this rather homely looking nurse. I hope that story was true.
It's a line that should be true if not. I love Barrymore's other expression, "Die? I think not. No Barrymore would ever allow such a thing."
Some may think these quotes are just apart of the Barrymore legend, but I wouldn't be surprised if either were true.
