Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Dario Argento

"I am not a criminal because I make horror films. A lot of Italian genre directors are animal lovers. Mario Bava loved cats, Riccardo Freda loves horses, and Dario Argento loves himself."
    I laughed.

Fulci, might have been right, but he shouldn't have said it, especially since Dario said some nice things about Fulci's early '70s gialli.

I am sure Argento didn't mind. He's very down to earth and two of them were actually friends who always had some smartas$ comments about each other. I think Argento started it all when he said he doesn't want to do giallo movies anymore because "the other guy [Fulci] started doing them too".
