I was watching a couple of the movies she made with he ex Kenneth Branaugh and I have to say they had a wonderful chemistry together.
Whatever went wrong with their marriage I wish they would re-team again for another movie. Alas -

There were rumours about his relationship with Helena Bonham Carter - possibly an affair on the set of Frankenstein I think and apparently they split for whatever reason whether he called time on it or she did I don't know.

He started the affair with Helena way back, during Emma and Helena's filming of "Howards End". And, it carried over into the filming of "Frankenstein". It's really sort of sickening watching Emma hugging "sister" Helena in a scene in "Howards End", knowing now that Helena was, in fact, schtuping Emma's husband in real life all the while. And in the end, it was Helena who actually introduced Kenneth to his current wife, a producer by the name of Lindsay (forgot her last name). Strange.
Anyway, yes, Emma and Kenneth had a great chemistry, especially in "Dead Again", but, he's a bit of sh*t now, I think, and she's much better off without him. She ended up with a much better-looking, and faithful, man in the end. -

In an interview in the Sunday Times that was published today, Emma broke her silence on the affair:
"Helena and I made our peace years and years ago". "All blood under the bridge".
On being asked if she thought her and Helena were similar:
"Oh, we are. Being slightly mad and a bit fashion-challenged. Perhaps that's why Ken loved us both? She's a wonderful woman, Helena". -

, is a frontrunner for a Best Actress Oscar nomination and is the favourite to win the Comedy/Musical Best Actress Golden Globe next month. Expect to see her name crop up again and again as award season progresses.
Hardly a career that 'generally went down the toilet since the 90's'.
