I know it was his career, his choice but man just imagine what his career would be like had he not turned down the roles he was offeredhe'd be a legend. He turned down Bruce Willis's role in Pulp Fiction, Tom Cruise's roles in Top Gun and Rain Man, Will Smith's role in Bad Boys, Robin Williams' role in Dead Poets Society. I mean how did he get offered so many huge roles that would've defined his career? Was he that well-known of an actor back then? Because had he kept it up and not turned them down he would be as famous as the actors that got the roles he didn't do, possibly more famous. Oh well.

Yes, good roles, but most of these are not meaty enough for Rourke. What we love about Mickey is the complexity of his characters.how they are both loathsome and sensitive and emotional all at once. You almost don't know what to feel when you view him, and it draws you in. He is a master of that, and can pull it off with his facial expressions, alone. The only role out of these that I could imagine for him would be Charlie Babbitt. Even though Tom Cruise did a great job, I think Mickey could have brought more to that character; drawing out more of the dark side and selfishness before being overcome with love.

My source, it's a know fact Mickey was wanted for Top Gun, and No way back then would of they offered a little dwarf the film over Mickey. Go think about that. Mickey was the Brando of the 80's and every one wanted him but he pushed and pushed em all away.

It would probably be much like it is now. Most likely, he would have slammed his costars, the directors, the producers, etc and burned another bridge.
I love the man, but he is his own worst enemy.
