He was absolutely terrible in the losers. Probably the worse villain in history
-Not funny
-Not intimidating looking whatsoever
-Not intimidating at all in his behavior
-Cannot act
I enjoyed the movie a lot for what it was (kaboom and explosions) but in every scene this guy was in, I cringed. Had I been his first lieutenant I would have shot him in the head so much he was annoying.
He played a lot better dad in My Sister's Keeper. He should stick to those. -

"Jason Patric, the forgotten man of Hollywood, is an absolute revelation as Max. His comic timing as the cartoonist, psychopathic baddie is a joy to behold, ensuring that you hiss at him and laugh with him in all the right places."
- Just one of the many glowing reviews for Patric. FKsetdouche.

Judging him on those two movies isn't fair at all considering his performance in Rush and in After Dark My Sweet. He can dance between intense to laconic as in his performance as the mentally damaged boxer in After Dark My Sweet or the Undercover cop that becomes an addict in Rush. Check them both out before you write him off, you might just be surprised.

I agree he was the worst bad guy I've ever seen. When he got shot in the arm he said "Ow, That Hurt." in such a casual way, that it was pathetic. At least try to act like you've been hurt. His character wasn't menacing at all, just seemed like a d-bag. He also looked like a big dildo in this.
He was terrible in Narc too. All he did was mumble throughout the entire thing. -

Smithers you are a piece of garbage witha two cent head. He was hilarious in that crapfest called LOSERS. You miss the whole point of comedy of course. He didnt say "ow that hurt " in a casual way at all. He slammed his foot and then composed himself and then ironically pointed out the obvious you teenaged tool. Menacaing? As in what? The plot is what it is, he didnt write that sewage, he merely enlivened it.
But it's clear you have an agenda, as you stand alone in the world saying he was terrible in NARC. I wouldnt say that too loudly at a party with serious filmgoers lil boy, you will be laughed at harder than when you tried to go to the prom. Mumbled through entire thing? Really , which lines were unintelligable? I understood every single utterance. He gave a classic performance in a film that has become a classic due to his and Liottas work.
Try not to be so obvious in your ignorance and limitations intellectually. -

yet another
"
If anyone comes out smelling like roses, its Jason Patric. His Max is a world class prick, and Patric gets to have enough fun that the audience can have fun with him as he showboats his dickery. The biggest problem with the movie is that The A-Team is virtually identical in plot and character archetypes, and does everything better. They obviously had more money. At home this plays much better than it did theatrically, as its very small, and perfectly competent." -

Jason Patric clearly spends his free time writing reviews for his own films. He was abysmal in this. Almost as bad as his main henchman, Wade. Their dialogue didn't do them any favors, but in the hands of a better actor it wouldn't have been an issue.

For me he was just the kind of villain where you're looking forward to him being killed, so that could be a compliment to his acting, I suppose.

I think the point of acting is "acting". If the movies lovely Jason was in were supposed to be real and happening in the real world, I'm sure he would have had a bad reputation. But what's the point of making movies and tv show? Its to avoid real life controversy if any of those happened in the real times.
Jason might be selective with the roles he chooses, but it goes to show he's not spending his time entirely in front of the camera and wants to be part of the real world outside the studios. It proves he has a life and a pretty balancing one at that! He was impressive in The Losers, I adored him in Sleepers playing a former victim of sexual abuse at a reform boys home and he was really good in Speed 2. Definitely liked him acting with Abigail Breslin, he really does pretty well with kids and gets along with them.
To be honest, his career is a lot smoother and progressively amazing than the likes of the horrendous and unimpressive Tom Welling who couldn't meet up to those, ruining my image of Superman with his lack of 'nice looks'. Jason is one of the more notable stars out there.

Don't get me started on that vapid pretty-boy, Tom Welling. His acting for once is very unnatural and he's always just going through the motions in nearly all of his movies and don't forget, Smallville. How he ever landed an acting career is beyond me. He should have stuck to his modeling job instead. I am sorry, but Reeves is Superman. Not you, Mr. Welling.
