You mean, "washed up", don't you?
And he doesn't want to be on the "A-list".
If they let Jack do it his way the show would be just 12 snorgtees.com -

Patric is primarily concerned with being an actor,
not
a movie star. He picks projects that interest him, not necessarily big blockbusters. He may not be considered "A" List but that doesn't mean that he isn't talented.
Narrow-minded trolls just can't seem to stay away from his board as much as they claim to hate him. Pathetic. -

Perhaps part of Jason Patrics problem if you will is that he takes himself a tad bit too seriously. In a nutshell, even as far back as
The Lost Boys
(arguably besides S
peed 2
and to a lesser extent,
The Losers
, the most frivolous, mainstream and/or fluffy film he has ever made), from what I understand, Jason wanted to be taken as seriously as an actor as possible.
I sldo kind of get the vibe that Jason Patric pisses people off. Im not going to go into his personal life and what his babys mother has accused him of doing. What Im trying to say is that he strikes he as one of those fiercely independent actors, who has no qualms about bluntly speaking his mind or playing the Hollywood game. Jason seems the type of person who wont hesitate to criticizing his co-workers (e.g. Ashley Judd) even if they may have deserved it or movies that he was offered that turned out to be hits (e.g.
The Firm
) and thus wouldve likely advanced his career. It does make you wonder why he signed up to do
Speed 2
(I wouldnt be surprised if Jason could sense that the movie was going to be crap) in the first place. Its almost as if being too high profile or in-demand would I guess make him some sort of sell-out or no longer a real actor. -

I don't know if I could consider him a washed up star. He didn't really put himself in a position where he was an A List actor in a series of high budgeted movies over a long period of time and now he can't get work. He always acted steadily. While people may or may not remember him from The Lost boys and or a series of movies that shows his acting talents, he hasnt taken the plunge from A Lister to never working again.
