I don't know. Even with a solid screenwriter, I am unclear whether the Wives were turned into robots or replaced by robots, because don't they become human again at the end?
Likely Death at a Funeral, apparently shot in England, didn't help.
Someone should have told him not to turn to the Dark Side.

I quite liked Death at a Funeral. As to whether the "wives" were robots or notwho knows?

I've only recently seen Oz's version for the first time, and I thought it was clear that unlike the original the women weren't replaced with robots, but had control chips implanted in their brb68ains. At the end, when the chips were fried remotely, they reverted to their own thoughts and behaviour.
Not as good a version of the story, in my opinion, but probably more believable technically.
You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
