Characters with famous names

Jarmusch seems to be fond of naming his characters after famous people, both real and fictional. I can think of a few off the top of my head. William Blake in Dead Man, Will Robinson in Mystery Train and Don Johnston (similar to Don Johnson) in Broken Flowers. Naming the young girl Lolita in Broken Flowers. I feel like he's done this other times. I'm curious if he has ever commented on why he is fond of this plot device.
