Word is he fell hard for J. Law in THGCF and it was not reciprocated. Hence the overdose. Very sad. Great in everything he did.
Terrible loss.

If that's true - it's very sad. He was a superb actor and gave so many transcendent performances in film. Bravo Mr Hoffman! R.I.P.

I've never heard of that until now. Sounds like just a silly rumour. He had children and had plenty to live for.
