My problem is, as soon as Terry gets replaced by another character I don't like the substitute. No matter how good or bad he/she is. When Terry went, I stopped watching Becker alltogether

Travis's character was very bland. It was as if they took Reggie and squeezed everything interesting out of her and they were left with Chris.
Reggie's backstory was part of what made her fun to watch former model but one with certain insecurities, her father's death and leaving her the restaurant, etc.
Chris kind of came in from nowhere and soon thereafter, she takes over the diner. She had a backstory as well but there just wasn't much to it.
I never was convinced that Becker and Chris would fall for each other. But Reggie's character had the a5b4dvantage of there being more episodes to show things unfold.
Travis was in a position to make a character work that was doomed from the beginning. I've also never been a big fan of hers but I'll cut her some slack in this case because no one could make this work.

I agree. It wasn't as much fun when she left. I liked her perosnality, her body, her attitude, and the way she and becker would go at it. I truly think Terry Farrel is an underated actress and I was angry when producers fired her. Why?

well the problem I think there was, is that first off Nancy Travis has no where near the personality Terry Farrell does. But what made that show great was the snappy one lines, the play with each other, and with a lot of other great shows, there was good, but unrealized sexual tension there. As with Nancy Travis though, they basically had them going at each other in the first episode, so that sexual tension was never there, the writing went south, and the play between the characters was basically gone.

Becker really went downhill without Ms. Farrell's character. It's downright boring. Ted Danson should move on to better projects and better scripts.
