It's Farley and no one else is even close. Always stings to realize how young he was when he passed. The man had potential galore. It would've been interesting to see how he would've done in a serious role like that rumored Roscoe Arbuckle movie. Addiction is a horrible thing and Chris was his own worst enemy. It's been 17 years, at least we know he's at peace.

Farley was funny but to say he was the funniest comedian ever is a huge stretch.
He was the same little boy stupid fat guy again he was funny but really a one trick pony.
John Belushi had way more talent and was a hell of a lot funnier then Farley.
Belushi could make you laugh with his eyes.
Hecould sing and dance and was a good actor. His early death is much more tragic then farleys. Belushi would have had a carrier like Bill Murray, who is also funnier then Chris. Sorry no offense I loved Farley for what he was but he was far from the best.
So many stand ups were funnier.

I agree that it's a stretch to call him the greatest ever - he certainly had the raw ability of becoming one of the greatest ever. His career only spanned from 1990-1997 perhaps one of the greatest starts to a career ever. Unfortunately we never got to see him develop fully. If you take some of the greats Aykroyd, Murphy, Pryor, and Carlin to name a few and just snip the first 7 years of their careers it would be the only measuring stick of comparison for Chris vs people who had decades to establish themselves. In that comp it's easy to see he was off to a great start.
