Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Kirsten Dunst

Wow, that's quite a filmography you have. I haven't seen most of your films, but 2 of them are worthy of comment. The first is the Bachelorette from several years backyou know, the one where you and your girlfriends were doing little more than shooting-off your foul mouths, 4-letter words at every chanceno acting, no substance, just a lot of unfunny trash-talking.
The second was my recent viewing of 2 Faces of January. Gee, it was really interesting, really thought-provoking to watch you light-up and smoke in practically every scene. I guess, in addition to taking-sh*t, you want to further your role model image to girls who follow you by teaching them that smoking is OK. Are you too stupid, too clueless, too irresponsible to be aware of the negative effects which smoking in movies has on young people? Is that Dunst or Dumbest?
I'm sorry to say, Kirsten, that if you lack the talent to carry a movie, I guess you have to rely on bathroom humor and/or tobacco addiction to get a response. In the days of Spider-Man, at least you could count on your looks for getting attention, but, as one other person commented here, those have faded quite a bit. You know, that's what smoking does, Ms. Dunstages the skin, bog-time. It's too bad you're not more selective in your roles.

Maybe not enough people are making roles which suit her true skills?
If you've seen Melancholia, you'll know, without a doubt that Kirsten understands depression, she's remarkable in the movie. It's just not a very mainstream movie, stuff like that doesn't come along often.
If you watch mainstream films with her in it, she's not going to impress, they don't suit her. There's more to her than that kind of tripe.

She is phenomenal in Melancholia. She just needs her Trier to shine.
I Sympathize with Lars Von Trier.

This is too harsh. Reel it in a bit. Just because this is the Internet it doesn't mean you should detach yourself from feeling empathy. She's human.

I'm sure it means a lot to Dunst to be criticized by some schmoe who's seen and objects to two films out of her 25-year careerone of which was set in the 1950s, so of COURSE the characters smoked all the time. (It would be ridiculous for a movie set in that period among well-off Westerners to NOT have them smoking. Sorry, but historical accuracy isn't "condoning.")
What a moron. Not to mention ending on a classy note with the usual "P.S. Your looks are fading, honey, and I should know because I'm some anonymous yoink who puts a lot of thought into grading celebrities' appearances" comment typically made by bitchy, usually very young posters.

It's called a comedy, most of them have extensive swearing and nudity.

Umm.. Her character only smoked once in the film, it was the other two lead actors who were lighting up in every scene. I bet you haven't even seen the movie.
                    PS.
                    Your a F^cking idiot

To the OP, you obviously hasn't seen many of Kirsten's movies as she has made plenty of thought provoking and emotionally stimulating ones. She is definitely a serious actress who is able to act and deliver.

Can I recommend a few Traci Lords films to you? Especially you should watch something from Cameron Diaz. Fill the darn site to infinity with your next letters. But blame the film makers for the junk. She didn't write her parts.
