How come she speaks Spanish with her baby?

I just saw her on Ellen (we're a bit behind here in Norway) and there was a clip where she was showing off how clever her little baby boy is. And she was asking him what sounds a dog or a horse make. And then she asked him where his head was. And when it looked like he hesitated she changed to the Spanish cabeza. And then she asked him where la luna (the moon) and las estrellas (the stars) were, for him to point upwards. Me speaking Spanish I almost didn't notice, but then I was like "What, did Minnie Driver just speak Spanish?". And I rewinded to hear it again.
Does anyone know why? I tried to read about it online and the only thing I can think of is that the baby's father (whose identity isn't being revealed) has to be Spanish speaking. So that gives us a little clue about his identity anyway
But it was so surprising because the baby was really "white" and blonde (e.g. British-looking, like her) -

Of course I know this. Hence the " before and after the word white

But I was still shocked to hear British Minnie Driver suddenly speak Spanish with her little baby. And I doubt she "just" does it to make the child bilingual. I'm thinking there's more to it -

The more languages you know, the more friends you can make. She's doubling his world of possibilities by teaching him a second language. Actually, she's more than doubling them when you consider how many people in the world speak Spanish. Good for her.

Spaniards are southern Europeans, so they are Mediterranean caucasians, so they are also "white", if not pasty white like some Brits are (not all). Plus, she's not precisely your typical Brit blonde either, and, if you ask me, she looks more Mediterranean than British.

Spaniards are the people, Spanish is the citizenship and the language. Both Spanish and spaniards are correct.

Know what you are saying before you post.
You seem to have shot from the hip and shot yourself in the foot.
The people of Spain are indeed Spaniards. Their language and their culture are Spanish.

"On 5 September 2008, Minnie Driver gave birth to a boy named Henry Story Driver. She did not then reveal the identity of the father. In February 2012, she revealed that her son's father was a writer on her television show The Riches."
