The Fly. Saw it when I was a kid and parts of it, especially the part where
Brundle spits acid on Stathis Boran's hand, mangling it horribly
, freaked me out completely. I've seen it many times since and Cronenberg is one of my very favorite filmmakers.

Scanners in its original theatrical release.
Then Videodrome on VHS (ask your parents).

Weirdly enough it was Videodrome. That movie sure made a first impression on me.

                            The Fly. Then Crash.

A History of Violence, although I wasn't actively aware of Cronenberg at the time. After I delved deeper into the mythos behind him, it was The Fly 🙂

"The Brood." I didn't care for it at all. That all changed when I saw "Dead Ringers." That one is amazing!

Probably The Dead Zone, or The Fly, both of which I saw with my dad as a l2000ate child-teenager. I started exploring Cronenberg after that, seeing Scanners afterwards and Videodrome.

The Dead Zone. First time I remember seeing Walken in a movie, too.

My first Cronenberg movie is The Fly OR Scanners. Both films have marked my cinematic childhood. Later, in the 97-98, when I went deeper into cinema and start considering the directors and realized that I liked 2 movies from same director, Cronenberg, I decided to consciently watch Crash first because my Dad wanted to bring me to theater to watch it but could not because I did not have the age! He insisted because it did not work. Anyway, we watched Bad Moon instead.

Scanners at the theatreit opened many doors after that one. Sure wish he would direct another horror film. Naked Lunch was fantastic, as with all his earlier works.
