i think she kinda coasted for awhile and didn't fight hard for serious roles also she's kind of known as the 'underworld girl' which is a lowbrow franchise so that doesn't rly help her with prestige projects because people just see her as the hot action type

I'm more amazed at the longevity of the Underworld "series". I saw the first one and laughed at all of the cliched action scenes that borrow everything from The Matrix trilogy. It also hasn't aged well with its over reliance on trance music.
That being said, it seems that Kate change gears after hooking up with the director and she's never looked back. She's done a few dramas here and there but none of them gained theatrical release and they aren't even streaming on Netflix.
