with his son's passing, and he's trying to spend as much quality time as he can with his daughters now?? I'm not criticizing him for it or anything, and think it's great he's able to be an actor and a father at the same time.

You could be right. He's aware that he wasn't a good Father the first time around so he's making sure he's as good of a parent as he can be to his daughters.
