if Stallone wanted to own the Rocky franchise, which he's been complaining he doesn't, and dropped out of Creed because of it… he would have needed to do a buy-out when he was really hot, in-between Rocky's 3 and 4…
When the first Rocky was made, the ownership belonged to the producers who made it… Stallone wasn't going to be the one… a c-actor with nothing to show of a non-career… to get the movie made…
He had nothing, and then he had an entire blockbuster career, but it's the producers and studio who make that happen, and, again, the only way to own a thing is to buy it from the people who made ignited it financially in the first place…
I think Stallone is being a big baby, especially by calling Irwin Winkler's sons "worthless" when they're just in business like their dad… the man who made the first Rocky happen…
In fact, Winker and Chartoff put their houses up for the gamble… the gamble won, but with a no-name actor who could hardly speak clearly, it WAS a gamble… THEIRS more than anyone's…
