He grew up in an idyllic post-war, American dream environment. He followed his passion and grew his talent from the ground up. His work involves being a grown child and getting to use his imagination and make the best movies ever made. He worked in Hollywood during the coolest decades for making blockbusters ever (70s, 80s and 90s). He got to bang loads of hot chicks. And he made BILLIONS doing it. He reinvented cinema and his own name became a household trademark. He defined an entire industry and art-form. All his friends are iconic directors. He’s won every conceivable award for his work, which means his films are seen as both commodities and high art. He lives a life of unbelievable luxury. He has inspired billions of people around the world and shaped countless childhoods. Never before or since has a filmmaker experienced what he did. He is a living legend. Did I leave anything else out? This man is essentially God. The only living entertainment figure who I think could compare is Paul McCartney. It most be so surreal to be him. Does he wake up everyday pinching himself?
