despite the adults who grew up liking this mess because they were too young and dumb to not know how crappy it is…
and it was the dumbest movie for Arnold, an action star at the peak of his game after T2, to make a movie mocking himself, his genre, and his fans for liking himself, and his genre… it was insane timing… I'd understand if it came out ten years after and he could use it as a meta comeback, but as a followup to his biggest movie ever, it was just an insane choice, and a remarkably horrible film on all counts…

That movie was Arnie’s first major misstep after his 10 year hot streak starting with Conan the Barbarian. He bounced back a little with True Lies, but the magic he once had had faded. Batman and Robin was the final nail in the coffin for him being a dominator at the box office. Although Rise of the Machines was a good last hurrah

What about “Junior,” the 1994 movie where he was a pregnant man. I never watched it because the trailer made it look really stupid, but I am pretty sure it was also considered to be a flop even though it actually made $100 million at the box office.

Ebert and Siskel liked it. It’s like a not quite as good version of Twins.
